Formhau launched in 2024 with one rule: every article has to survive contact with a real budget, a real contractor, and a real house that isn't a photo set.
Why we exist
Most interior design content online falls into one of two categories: aspirational photography with no practical detail, or SEO-driven listicles written to rank rather than to help. Formhau was started to be the third option — a place where the writing assumes you're going to actually do the thing being described, in your own home, with your own constraints. That means we talk about cost, timeline, and trade-offs as often as we talk about aesthetics, because in a real room, those things are inseparable.
What we cover
We publish across six sections: Small Spaces, Color & Materials, Kitchens & Baths, Furniture & Sourcing, Renovation Planning, and Outdoor Living. Every article is reported and written by an editor with hands-on experience in that specific area — a former set designer writing about small-space living, a kitchen designer writing about layout, a renovation project manager writing about timelines. We don't publish anything our editors wouldn't tell a friend planning the same project.

Every recommendation comes with a real constraint attached — cost, time, or effort — instead of pretending those don't exist.
